About the research

A cancer patient's blood contains valuable information about the cancer tumor, which can help determine the best treatment. However, in order to extract that information properly from the blood in the laboratory, the blood samples need to be treated carefully. Laure Sorber (UAntwerpen) has developed a manual for this.

Laure Sorber (°1990) is a passionate cancer researcher at the University of Antwerp. She focuses on the use of blood to obtain information from the tumor. During her PhD she determined the correct way to process blood. This way, blood can be used in a minimally invasive way to select a tailor-made treatment for the patient.
