Informal leadership

About the research

Not every leader is a manager, and not every manager is a leader. This is a very simple truth that anyone will agree with. For Lien Desmet Desmet this is the grain from which her PhD research sprouted. If not synonymous to "manager", then what exactly makes someone a "leader"? And what happens when we have no manager at all, and all we are left with is informal leadership? With her PhD research on informal leadership in self-managing teams, Lien wants to add her own little puzzle piece to the complex leadership puzzle.
