About the research 

What if we could make plastic out of... wood waste? In fact, this is already possible today, but unfortunately the technology to make such bioplastics is not yet fully developed. Tim Croes (KU Leuven) wants to help improve the technique so that it can be applied on a large scale.

Tim Croes graduated from KU Leuven as a biochemical engineer and as a science teacher. He is currently working on a PhD in which he is doing research on biofuels and biochemicals, with support of Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO). He is also enjoying himself with teaching science, nature guiding and giving dance classes.
