About the research

When we think of blockchain, it's often linked to Bitcoin and its high energy use. But did you know that blockchain can also be a powerful tool for sustainability? 🌱

Hanna Buyssens (Vlerick Business School, KU Leuven) explores how companies can use blockchain to adopt greener practices. By creating a transparent digital trail, blockchain technology allows businesses to track every step of a product’s journey—from source to shelf—ensuring greater transparency and helping to reduce environmental impact. ♻️
