Circular building: does it pay off? πŸ— πŸ‘·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

About the research

In order to convince the construction sector to build more circularly, hard figures are needed to show that circular constructions are more advantageous both ecologically and financially. This is what Lisa Van Gulck (University of Ghent) wants to ensure.

During her studies civil-engineering architecture Lisa Van Gulck became stimulated by the question: how can we build in a more environmentally friendly way? Circular building, which means preserving the value of buildings for as long as possible, is a viable answer. Lisa’s current PhD research at the UGent is aimed at proving the importance of circular building by determining the environmental impact and financial cost of circular constructions.
