Many young businesses struggle to survive beyond their initial years, but what sets successful startups apart? Hamza Aurangzeb (Vlerick Business School, UGent) studied how young entrepreneurs make decisions and identified three key pillars for success: responsiveness, preparedness, and prioritization. Startups that can adapt quickly to new threads and choose wisely which opportunities to pursue (or not) are much more likely to grow and thrive, even in times of crisis! 🚀

Driven by his studies in finance, psychology and marketing, and having worked in consulting and applied research, Hamza Aurangzeb is dedicated to understanding how young companies develop the capabilities necessary for survival and success. At the Entrepreneurship, Governance & Strategy department at Vlerick Business School, and the Marketing, Innovation & Organization group at UGent, his research focuses on the roles of founders and investor-founder relationships.
