What is 'home' to older adults with a migration background?

Our ageing population is not only growing but is also becoming more diverse. Labour migrants who came to Belgium last century are part of today's ageing population. Most older adults prefer to live at home for as long as possible, but what is 'home' to older adults with a migration background? To explore this, PhD researcher Micheline Phlix conducted 45 interviews with older migrants.

Smart cities are transforming their urban services

This might soon become reality, but only if we manage to process the huge amount of data that these smart devices will produce. Did you know that there is no clear, general regulation in Belgium that regulates the relationship between citizen and government? we currently rely on vague, unwritten principles supplemented by specific legislation, what has led to a jumble of rules. That tangle is what Dennis Fransen wants to help unravel. Through his research he wants to contribute to a general administrative law code in Belgium and Flanders.
