About the research

Aristotle may be considered the founder of what we call science today, but he proved to be far less wise about women. For example, he considered the idea that women are inferior to men as a scientific fact. But how did Islamic philosophers of the Middle Ages, who were rather fiddling with Aristotle, think about the role of women? That is what Tineke Melkebeek (UGent - FWO) is trying to find out.
